Ranger Installation & Setup
Most Ranger equipment ships ready to run — but a proper setup gives you years of trouble-free service. Here’s what to plan for. MTF can deliver, install, and calibrate everything we sell across greater Houston.
Floor & Foundation
Tire changers and balancers anchor into 4″ of cured concrete with the supplied bolts. Level matters — a balancer that’s off by 1° will produce error readings, so we shim and check with a precision level.
Air Supply
Pneumatic Ranger tire changers need 110-150 PSI clean, dry air at 4-7 CFM. If your compressor is undersized or your lines are full of water, the bead breaker and table-top will run slow and inconsistent.
Electrical
120V/60Hz/15A is enough for most balancers and lathes. Electric tire changers and combo machines may need a 20-30A circuit on a dedicated branch. We coordinate the hookup.
Calibration
Every wheel balancer gets a static and dynamic calibration during install using the supplied calibration weight. We document the readings so you have a baseline for service later.
Operator Training
On-install training covers mounting, bead-seating, balance modes, and the safety procedures. We leave laminated quick-reference cards at the bay for new techs.
Shop Layout
Plan 8 feet of clear space around tire changers for tire loading and bead seating. Balancers need 6 feet. We map a layout that keeps the air-line runs short and operator movement efficient.
Ranger Maintenance & Service
A few minutes of routine maintenance keeps Ranger equipment running like new for years. MTF stocks common Ranger wear parts at our Houston warehouse, and our technicians handle warranty and out-of-warranty service.
Daily Checks
Tire changers: inspect bead-breaker pads, mount/demount head, air-lube oiler. Balancers: clean the cone and shaft, verify the calibration weight is on hand. Two minutes a day.
Weekly & Monthly
Drain air filter water trap weekly. Lubricate tire-changer pivot points monthly with Ranger-approved grease. Check bolt torque on the chuck/turntable assembly each month.
Annual Service
Annual professional service includes hydraulic fluid replacement on jacks, calibration verification on balancers and lathes, electrical inspection, and software updates where applicable.
