BendPak Lift Installation Requirements
BendPak lifts perform best when installed on the right foundation. Here’s what to plan for before delivery in Houston, Pasadena, Baytown, or anywhere in the greater Houston area. Our crew handles the whole job β site survey, anchors, electrical hookup, and ALI commissioning.
Concrete & Floor
Most BendPak two-post and four-post lifts require a minimum of 4 1/4" of 3,000 PSI cured concrete. Heavy-capacity models (HDS-40, PCL columns) may need 6" or thicker. We core-test if you’re not sure.
Ceiling Clearance
Plan 12′ minimum for symmetric two-post lifts, 11′ for low-ceiling two-post models, and 7-8′ for scissor lifts. Mobile column lifts need overhead clearance equal to your tallest vehicle plus 6 feet of stroke.
Electrical
Most single-phase lifts run on 208-230V/60Hz with a 30A circuit. Three-phase 460V is available on heavy-duty units. Mobile column lifts are 100% cordless. We coordinate with your electrician if needed.
Bay Layout
Allow at least 12′ of bay width for a two-post lift and 14′ for a four-post. We bring a measuring kit and review door clearance, lighting, and exhaust runs during the site visit.
Anchoring
Two-post lifts anchor with 3/4" wedge anchors at the specified torque. We use BendPak-approved hardware and shim plates to keep the lift plumb within manufacturer tolerance.
Commissioning
Every install ends with a full safety check: locks engaged at each notch, equalizer cables tensioned, hydraulic system bled, and a test cycle under load. You sign off before we leave.
BendPak Lift Maintenance & Service
ALI-certified lifts have to be inspected every year to stay in compliance. MTF Equipment is a factory-authorized BendPak service provider for the Houston area β we keep your shop running and your insurance happy. Whether you bought from us or not, we service every major BendPak model.
Annual ALI Inspection
ANSI/ALI ALOIM-2020 requires a documented annual inspection by a qualified technician. We inspect cables, locks, anchors, hoses, hydraulics, and electrical, then provide the signed inspection record for your records.
Daily & Monthly Checks
Daily: lock engagement, smooth cycle, no leaks. Monthly: cable tension, anchor torque, sheave wear, hydraulic fluid level. We supply a printable BendPak checklist to keep at the bay.
Service Intervals
Hydraulic fluid: change at first year, then every 3-5 years (ISO 32 AW). Equalizer cables: inspect annually, replace per BendPak guidance. Sheaves and rollers: lubricate quarterly with lithium grease.
Genuine BendPak Parts
We stock common wear parts locally β cables, hydraulic seals, lock latches, arm restraints, sheaves, and power units. Special-order parts ship same-day from BendPak’s California warehouse.
